Thank you for completing the Hazon Seal Education and Advocacy Assessment!
After much deliberation, we have decided to remove the score and grading system from the assessments, as it seemed to distract from the true purpose: to help you in your sustainability journey. We will continue to build out this section of the portal so that it offers more comprehensive and useful feedback in the weeks to come.

Meat is a difficult subject. It is bound up with our culture, our identity as individuals, powerful instincts, and conflicting information about what our bodies need. However, what is clear is that the environmental impact of animal products is staggering. Recognizing all of that, we urge you to broach the subject with your community. Many people do not understand the impact of industrial meat and dairy, and many more think it is extremely difficult if not outright impossible to eat a balanced diet low in animal products (plant forward diet). Take a look at our Transition to Plant-Rich Diets toolkit for more information and inspiration.
In environmentalism, a lot of emphasis is placed on individual responsibility, and that is as it should be. We should all strive to live a life more in line with our environmental ideals now, rather than waiting for “the system” to change. However, institutions and communities have an even greater obligation: working to change our current political and economic systems to better favor sound environmental practice. We highly encourage you to mobilize your community in some capacity to push policy makers toward sustainable decisions.
